Ingrid, author of Sun Shining on Morning Snow, weaves memoir with music, mother-daughter tensions, and grief, exploring what it means to grow up mixed, queer, and bold in America. Katie, creator of Not Your China Doll and author of Not Your China Doll: The Wild and Shimmering Life of Anna May Wong, brings to life the legacy of Hollywood’s first Asian American movie star, while offering a sharp lens on race, representation, and reclaiming history.

Join Ingrid Hu Dahl as she brings her book tour to Jersey City, NJ in conversation with former The 303s bandmate Parixit Davè. Together, they’ll discuss themes from the book—identity, creative expression, navigating cultures, and living boldly.
Parixit met Ingrid Dahl at Rutgers University in 2002, and together they formed The 303s—an experimental project born near New Brunswick and raised in Jersey City’s underground. Their debut album, Lines of Parallel Minds, is a beautifully dissonant mix of electronics, shoegaze, and post-punk. It balances power and fragility, anxiety and love, tension and release.
